There are several Power or Energy that we may found in this world :

Solar Power

We sometimes do not realize that the Sun that is shining actually has Power. We called it Solar Power which means "the Power from the Sun". As you maybe aware the simplest form of a solar power is trapping the sunlight to heat a green house. Solar panels are used to capture and collect the sunlight and store it for heating. This solar cells convert sunlight into electricity and are utilized for various different kinds of equipment, such as pocket calculators that we are frequently using or you may found in the shop.

As we may be aware people have used the power of the wind for decades. We can see that sailors are using the wind to blow the sail of their ship to move in the water and ocean. In Holland we can see that they are using windmills to pump water and grind grain. The wind turns the sails of the windmill, and the sails turn and moved a pole called the shaft which drives machinery inside such mill. This machinery inside the mill turns the milestone which grind the grain to become flour.

Water Power

We may notice that a fast flowing river posses a lot of energy and power. People have been using this water power to drive water wheels for many years. This water wheel is connected to a machinery which turned milestone for grinding grain. If water is stored on a dam there is a potential power behind this dam.

Hydro-electric power.

In a hydro power electric power station, this supply of water is stored behind a dam here a reservoir of water is formed. We can see that there are gates in such dam, where if the gates in such dam are opened, a powerful rush of water will go fast through the huge tunnels and turns the turbines on. So we can see that the rushing of water can be used to turn the turbines and produce electricity.

Tidal Power

We noticed that the high and low tides in the sea are caused by the pull of gravity from the Moon. As the Moon moves around the Earth, its gravity pulls like a magnet. This tides according to experts are very reliable and have been used to drive water mills for hundred of years. The water is trapped in a millpond at high tide, and then let out when the tide has gone. When the water rushes out, the water turns a mill of wheel.

Wave Power

Waves are very powerful source of natural energy. They are caused by the wind blowing accross the wide stretches of water far out at sea. When waves reach the coast, they batter the shore and erode the cliffs and rocks. If we can control this energy properly, it could be utilized to produce electricity
